Checking Out

Our Korean journey is almost over, sniff.  Once again,it feels like we’ve been here for longer than just the 5 days of our stay. Long days turning into longer nights:T travels (Plane/busses), jetlag, before, during and aftershow parties, football (my body still aches after only playing for 2 hours), sightseeing in Seoul and 1 hour of music kept us both awake and busy.

Speaking of the matter that brought us here, I think the show turned out great. Despite fear of cancellation due to non-stop raining (see photos of ponchos), we managed to perform between raindrops and were thrilled by the passion of the fans. Even though it’s hard to communicate when you literally know 2 words (Hello & Thank you…shame on us), I feel we managed to connect somehow. Plus, Korean scream louder than any other audience, I think.

There were lots of impro bits during the concert, for eg, we played Open Book a song we hadn’t play in ages (2 years, perhaps). Pedro jumped off stage again…only to land on his back (the grass was wet) and  he almost broke his foot. There’s a video of it, and it’s quite amazing! Worse, while on the ground, he couldn’t keep playing bass as he was getting electric shocks, so he had to make a full round and run back to the stage. Not far from being his best Spinal Tap moment.

We’ll get back to work shortly. We just watched the work in progress video for the new single and it’s fantastic.

Kamza Hapnida and see you soon.
