Rock’n’Roll facts Vol 78
Hi there,
Last week’s shows (minus the long drives) were a lot of fun.
Villeurbanne was cool, we played between raindrops (no, it’s not a band name), it felt great to be back on stage after one-and-a-half month hiatus . Next, we headed for Chartres, which looks both like a lovely and dull city. The gig was good, though late. We played a full set with covers from both The Ronettes and The Kinks. The crowd dug it.
Rock’n’Roll fact: I broke a lamp in my hotel room. (but I didn’t do it on purpose)
Football Fact: after a stunning victory in Villeurbanne, my team (Jerome, Pedro & I) lost against Julien, Raf & Med. Sad.
On Saturday we drove back to Lyon, did touristy things, ate heavy food, slept a few hours and went south to Six-Fours-Les-Plages.
The stage was facing the beach, first we soundchecked and then went swimming (first time of the year!). that was cool. the show was cool too, with people (from 7 to 77 year olds: remember, it was la Fete de la Musique) enjoying it.
I was close to send my SG in Raphael’s afro as he introduced me as “Jean Luc Lahaye”… Aftershow, we crashed surprisingly ( & twice!) at a Mod night in a bar close to the stage. Northern Soul, 7”inches, dance moves, drinks, late, 4 am…
This week will be very busy as well. Last night, I covered Blur’s Boys & Girls with my mate Lionel “Better Than Prince” Flairs on bass & mpc. That was fun!
On Friday, we’ll do a DJ set in Front of Rouen’s cathedral (from 9.30 pm to 10.30 pm), believe me it’s been a lot of work to select songs that would fit the event.
On saturday, we’ll be in Caen, performing an acoustic set for WW2W.

Sunday & Monday we’ll be in London for a Queens Of Sounds night and a showcase at Pure Groove Records.

Business as usual!
X
