Tahiti Touring Party
Hey,
So, we finally left Japan.
5 long days & short nights, as getting adjusted to the time difference is impossible for me in Japan. I’d need to stay longer there and then I’ll experience what it feels to be “normal”. Non-stop partying, and work, yes we were here to perform 3 shows and do some promo! , didn’t help either.
Anyway, it’s been a very special trip this time: both shows were awesome and we even got a bit of a Spinal tap/legendary moment with the last minute cancellation of our gig at SS 09 Tokyo.
(by the way, I heard that Phoenix cancelled their Osaka performance cause 2 members suffered from strong flu..too bad for them, was it a French curse?)
Speaking of Osaka, we got a bit of rain, but this time our shirts were soaked wet with our sweat not because of some storm! The show was fantastic, we headlined the Park Stage with a 70 minute set. The highlight for me was definitely the joke I played on Pedro. I substitued his panda head for a crab head bought at Loft. You should have seen his face when he opened his bag that he keeps behind his bass amp. I thought he was going to kill me, but ,thank mother nature, he didn’t know I was responsible for that…glups.
I had a plan B, when I saw he was pissed of, I made a sign, so Denis brought the panda head, and during a cow bell break, he got his crown back, with the audience cheering and a smile on his face. It was close..
Then, we headed to the American village in Osaka, met with a few friends, ate takoyaki, and finished very, very late…then it was time to go the airport.
Déjà vu experience.
see you soon,
Xavier
