“This is it”

Ouch…pfff….

So, That’s it…”This is it”…we played our last show for the Activity “Many People Complain” Center Tour. The very last show of the year.

We started our journey at Evreux’s “Rock dans tous ses états” in May 08 and resumed it in NYC at the Mercury Lounge. What a great trip it has been. I don’t think have ever laughed so much in my life. I definitely lost a few years of life expectancy (joke) but it was worth it. Call me selective, call me blind, but I firmly believe that every show has been great (just can’t remember any bad ones…perhaps the one that never was at Tokyo’s Summer Sonic 09). Anyway, this will deserve a proper report of that, with various figures & all kinds of souvenirs.

Last night’s gig was crazy. We played with our friends from Brookville, with whom we had toured 3 years ago. The new line up and arrangements are fucking awesome, and both LA & NYC concerts have been successes. I guess we were all so happy to get this other opportunity to play together, that both bands did their best every night.

So we took possession of the stage at around 0:30 am, and rocked out. Even a fucked up cable which was replaced by a short cable that kept going out of my Ibanez Flanger couldn’t ruin the party. Cause in many ways, it really felt like we were playing at a friends’ party, don’t know whose b’day it was, but everybody was there to celebrate. The greatest reward is to see the crowd, smiling, cheering and dancing.

Plus NYC is special for us. I mean all these songs (Yellow Butterfly, Made First, Antonelli, 1,000 Times, Soul Deep, Heartbeat…) were recorded here… I seriously think that it makes us New Yorkers, in many ways.

We ended up very late at around 2, I guess. We were supposed to DJ somewhere afterwards but it got canceled(!) due to the length of the set. so we stayed at the Mercury Lounge for another couple of hours, talking to the fans, hanging out with The Brookville guys. Then we all headed back to our apartment in West Chelsea for what was arguably the longest after party of the tour! (Big up’s to the neighbors for not calling the cops). We played all the usual songs, Gemini’s edit by Pilooski, Couac Couac, One More Time (took off our shirts for this one)…Then, in the morning, the survivors, i.e T80, decided to go to see the Statue of Liberty…that will explain the US baseball caps (except for Pedro who kept his Panda hat on!), and the NYC tee shirts…we came back home at 1:30 pm…and it’s not over yet.

Thank you soooo much, we’ll be back soon.

more love
