Yesterday’s show in Tokyo was very cool. I only wish we could communicate more with the audience, but my Japanese hasn’t improved since my first stay here…so it’s a bit hopeless, I guess.

We finished the night at Le Baron Tokyo, which looks like a perfect cross btw Le Paris Paris & Le Baron…After a 127-bpm-only set by our sound engineer, friend and member of Chateau Marmont, Angy (aka Stomy), I (Grandmaster Xav) spinned a few records, I hate to say it but I wasn’t totally inspired…and then DJ Spanky (aka Mederic) stormed the DJ booth and made the right choices: most notably he played Couac Couac by Ronald & Donald (Download it on the link below on the excellent website waxidermy.com ). Smoky (aka Pedro) started a “chenille” (a congo line in English), surely the first and last in the history of Barons, with me, Spider (aka Raphael) and a bunch of customers, cool!…

Meanwhile Stomy, Skippy (aka tourmanager Pascal) and Snake (aka Julien) were chatting in the vip section. Boooooooo!

Spanky even performed “air puppet” with his hands…

(I know these nicknames are stupid, and that I have yet to find a good one as grandmaster xav is only my disc jockey’s nom de plume)

As far as I’m concerned, the other highlights were T80 remixes by Yuksek & Simian Mobile.Going to Nagoya later in the day.

By the way, mid I tell you we designed a new pair of jeans with Levi’s? more on this later!
