Seoul Deep

Hey, that’s it, the Asian Tour is over…I can’t believe how fast it went…

The Seoul show was great,  I have to say that Koreans are the fans who scream the loudest in the world, it was sometimes deafening, louder than the music!!!
Here’s how it started, the promoters had thought of a special trick for the stage intro: Our logo was being projected onto a big curtain/screen, while we performed “One Parachute” as mere shadows. Then they dropped it (after the combined cues of “Hello Korea, we are Tahiti 80” + a drum fill) and all of a sudden we heard this huuuuugeeee roar from the audience… all the tiredness of the past few days (weeks?) was removed instantly.
The crowd sang along, it felt like being U2 (and we’re no stadium band)”1,000 Times” was a live favorite with people knowing all the words. There was also another big cheer, when I took off one button from my shirt on “Come Around”…OK, I couldn’t resist doing it!
Just like the night before we changed the end of Changes  and we experienced a trance- like moment.
After the show, an autograph session had been planned. Though too many people showed up, we insisted on signing for everyone who had been waiting in line (at least 300 people). Once again albums, tickets, diaries, i-pods & phones were signed. Thanks for the presents, cakes & sausages (!).
Then we had Korean BBQ with a quick Chili contest (no losers, no winners, just a few tears were shed), and as there were no bars around (Spanky had brought his DJ bag just in case) we went back to the hotel and celebrated the end of the 2008 tour with a game of “Petits Papiers” (“Small Papers”)…the rule is to write anything you can think of on a piece of paper, throw it in a jar and wait it till it’s your turn to pick up one. These papers being anonymous (or with fake signatures), you can imagine what can be said. The Hotel sent the security guards to tell us to be quiet ( “Too much noise, Neighbors upstairs and downstairs complain!”) , in an untypical un-rock’n’roll fashion we decided to call it a night…

Thank you all, for coming to the gigs, thanks for the awesome memories, this tour is definetely one of the highlights of our career.

Merry Xmas, peace etc.
