Hey!
chengdu seems so far away!
We had a great time. Even though we stayed most of the time at our hotel.
Sauna, hamman, swimming pool, and tsingtao was all we needed
And we saw some real pandas, which was awesome. Pedro got some new panda accessories. Uh uh!

The show kicked ass. They had some visual effects, big balloons to throw in the audience, and the best thing ever:
Fans +smoke + lights right underneath us. When it happened I felt like the chosen one, or like the singer in a 80’s hair metal band.
We finished the night back at the hotel with a band covering Van Halen, Toto, Foreigner…la crème de la crème!

Then Beijing! We met with our compatriots General Elektriks who were also on the bill. I think we must have played the baddest version ever of Crack Up. We all went crazy on this one! We played an unexpected encore: an extremely noisy version of Defender. Fookin great.
We left the hotel at 4:30 this morning to catch a plane…living the dream, without having anytime to sleep.

Hi there,
We landed in chengdu yesterday after a 20hr trip. After a 30mn hotel stop, we were off to the soundcheck…yeah! RnR!
Today’s panda day, we’ll be visiting “Panda Base”. Pedro’s eager to meet some distant family members.
We’ll be on stage at Zebra Festival at 7pm.

Hello Friends,

it’s been a whiiiiiile!

Hope everyone’s doing great.

I guess I just got fed up with social networks and modern means of communication in general.

Yes, it can happen (!).

Still, we spent most of our time writing new songs, which is the most important thing, n’est ce pas?

Hopefully, it will be worth the wait (and the silence!)

-First some news:

we’re sad to announce that Julien has left the band.

Good news: No hard feelings, we’re still friends. C’est la vie.

We’ll continue as a 4 piece on stage and as a 5 piece (with Sylvain) in the studio.

-We’re rehearsing for these shows with Hadrien on the drums( drummer for Shit Browne, Dorian Pimpernel, Monitor & FOH engineer, and official barman of Tahiti 80 at Le Motel…). Raphael has a signed letter from his mother. He will be back for Japan.

-Don’t worry Med’s still here, even though he’s not on the pics!

-Pedro likes to sit while playing bass

Here’s our busy schedule for the end of the week!

November 24:

Med & I will be deejay-ing at Ritz Bar, 38 rue Cambon, Paris, tonite from 10pm to 2am.

November 25:

Tahiti 80 will perform at Le Petit Bain w/Califone +This Is The Hello Monster. from 9pm to Midnight.

November 26

The last show of the year at La Sirène in La Rochelle w/ Syd Matters + Kid Bombardos.

(ooops, let me apologise for this post stupid title…)
That’s it. Our october Asian trip is almost over.
As usual, it went so fast.
Manila seems already so far away.
We didn’t get to see any beaches, (there are more than 7,000…) but we met some very nice Filippinos. The audience seemed ecstatic while we were on stage, singing along, dancing etc. Nothing can beat the feeling of watching people knowing the words to our songs.
Then, we fled to Korea to perform at Grand Mint Festival. It was our second appearance. We love Korean fans: the loudest audience in the world! Man! Those screams are unbelievable. We were exhausted after our long travels and we got such a kick from listening to the crowd. Amazing feeling.
A few bowls of Kimchi later, we played for EBS, a tv program.
That was super cool too. Signed 476 autographs, got shot 345 times.
Salamat, kamza hapnida. We’ll be back soon!
